A large serving of Island Fusion and Florida Orange from Rita's in Powell. I'm not exactly sure, but I think it cost $2.69. Being a fan of fruity, tropical things I'd definitely get the Island Fusion flavor again.
Rita's I first went to a Rita's on Henderson more than a decade ago. I really liked the mango flavor and stopped by when I was in the area. Now, there are outlets all over central Ohio. That's good news because Rita's now offers more flavors and choices to help cool you down on a hot summer day. I stopped in the Powell store recently and was surprised at all the offerings. I tried Swedish Fish-flavored ice, which tasted like the gummy fish candy I have eaten for years and it was weird. Weird in a good way-kind of like the way I like butter popcorn-flavored Jelly Belly jelly beans. I saw my old fave mango, but decided to try something new. I got a mix of half Island Fusion and half Florida Orange. Some of the offerings during my visit were Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Cherry and sugar-free pineapple. I'm glad Rita's offers sugar-free ice and fat-free ice cream called Slenderita for those who are watching their sugar and fat intake. They have a bunch of stuff they offer in addition to the ice now including Misto shakes, Blendini frozen coffee, frozen custard and gelatis. The Powell store had some tables with umbrellas out front to sit at and enjoy your treat.
