"Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro posed for me after his cake decorating demonstration in the display kitchen at Market District.

Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, better known as the star of the TLC show "Cake Boss" was featured at Giant Eagle's Market District at Kingsdale in Upper Arlington on March 26. About 300 people who received free tickets got seats and about 200 others stood on the sides to watch his appearance. (The lucky 300 also got $5 gift certificates to use that day.) He did cupcake decorating demonstrations, answered audience members' questions and signed copies of his book. According to Valastro, he'll be opening a 300,000+ square-foot facility in New Jersey where they will make and ship cakes. He also plans a cooking school. He puts an emphasis on family and says that baking can be a great way to bring families together. Watch the video of his answer to an question on why he chose to allow his son's birth to be featured in an episode at www.ThisWeekNews.com. Look for the blue video player on the lower right side of the page. Market District has already hosted a few other celebrity chefs and TV hosts and will be having more visit. Crew tickets Groupon currently has a deal to get $10 Columbus Crew tickets for Friday's game against FC Dallas at 7:30 p.m. (No, it's not an April Fool's Day joke!) Get the deal before it's gone. There's also a Groupon to use toward lunch at the Montgomery Inn. It costs $7 to get $15 to spend on lunch. I wrote about it when it opened and they use and sell my favorite barbecue sauce. If you haven't been there and are a sports fan it's a must see just to look at all the photos and memorabilia displayed on the walls. (Over 21? You can use the Groupon toward alcoholic beverages and food.) Get yours at www.groupon.com/columbus.
