Cinemark Movies 12 in Carriage Place off Bethel Road is a second-run theater offering discounted movies for $0.75 for reel family Monday movies up to $3.75 for 3D movies.

Carriage Place Movies 12

I'm really lucky that this theater is not too far away from where I live. I often don't get to see all of the movies I want to when they first come out, so I go see them here. Recently, I saw 50/50 and Drive. Both are good movies and a couple of other films I want to see, Midnight in Paris and The Rum Diaries, are currently showing at the theater. Depending on when you go, movies cost anywhere from $0.75 to $3.25. Reel Family movies are discounted on Monday as are movies on Tuesday.

Another great way to save money here is to buy the "cup and bucket combo" for $11.50 and pay $3 each for refills on your large drink and popcorn bucket on return visits through December 2012. You can also visit their website to sign up for concession specials, which they'll send you on Wednesdays.

The theater is located in the Carriage Place shopping center off of Bethel Road. Leave a little time to get a parking spot, use the restrooms and get some snacks before your movie. Warning: the theater tends to be a busy place on Tuesday nights and on the weekends, so get there early to get a good seat.

If you'd rather stay home, you can rent a DVD at Redbox for $1.28. However, if you sign up for a text discount like I did by sending "FUN" to 727272, then you'll get a discount code to use at the kiosk through 12/24. (Fees for text messages may apply depending on your plan)
