It's hot and here's an inexpensive way to take the kids to cool off. Splash Pads can be found in various location in central Ohio and offer an inexpensive way for the kids to have fun and cool off. Free-of-charge splash pads can be found at Village Green Park in downtown Powell, Easton Town Center in front of Brio, at Dublin's Ballantrae Park and downtown at North Bank Park. If you'd rather go to the pool, most offer a discount on entry fees after 5 or 6 p.m.
Worthington Pools offers a splash pad, but you have to pay to use the facility. Fees for non-members Daily/After 6 p.m. Adult (18 & up) $8.50/$6; Child (3-17) $6.50/$4.00; Infant (under age 3) Free and Senior (62 & up) $5/$3.
For the hipsters: Wexner Center kicks off its summer movie series with The Royal Tenenbaums at the Wex Drive-in tonight. Tickets are $7 for general public; $5 Wexner Center members, students and senior citizens; and $3 children under 12 (unless otherwise indicated). Definitely my favorite Wes Anderson film yet, the movie is about a quirky, dysfunctional family. Love all of the Lacoste and Adidas Originals and Luke Wilson really pulls off the Bjorn Borg look.
FREE family movies: The movie “Bed Time Stories” will be shown at Grove City's Fryer Park off Orders Road tonight at dusk (Around 9 p.m.) as part of the summer movie series. Take a blanket and chairs. Snacks/drinks are allowed, but no glass. Popcorn and ice cream will be for sale. Dolphin Tale will be shown next Thursday.
