Summer movies
A number of central Ohio movie theaters are offering free or reduced family-friendly (rated PG or G) movies this summer. The theaters, times, cost and days:
• Rave
Grove City theater kicks off FREE series June 11 and June 14 with Cats & Dogs. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and movie begins at 10 a.m. Movies shown Mondays and Thursdays.
Polaris theater kicks off series June 13 and 14. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and movie begins at 10 a.m. Movies shown Wednesdays and Thursdays
• Cinemark
Bethel Road theater kicks off Summer Movie Clubhouse June 12 with Happy Feet. Purchase advance series 10 for $5 or $1 per show. Call 1-800-326-3264 exp code 1235#. Movies will be shown each Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Gahanna theater kicks off its Summer Movie Clubhouse June 13 with Happy Feet. Advance tickets are 10 for $5 or $1 per show. Movies are shown Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
• Star Cinemas Grove City
Movies begin June 6 and 7 with Kung Fu Panda 2. Movies are free and doors open at 9 a.m. and movies begin at 10 a.m. FREE movies will be shown each Wednesday and Thursday.
• The Strand Delaware
Movies begin June 12 with Mr. Popper's Penguins starring Jim Carey. The free movies will be shown Tuesdays at 11 a.m and 2:30 p.m.
• CAPA
Cartoon Capers featured as part of Summer Movie Series June 23. Cost is $4 for children and adults and $3.50 for seniors. Seating is first-come, first-serve.
