Eddie Bauer Warehouse Store offers items found in the stores and online for a great price. The salvage store is a bargain hunter's paradise, but is hit or miss with products and availability.
Eddie Bauer Warehouse Store
I've been going here since college to pick up down coats, clothes and outdoor gear.
The store has been around for a long time, but has changed somewhat over the years in terms of hours and the way it's set up. It consists of 3 different stores under one roof:
The first is the Salvage Store, which sells overstock, returns, and saleable damaged items. The other part is an Outlet Store, which offers more recent products at a lower price. The third is the Warehouse Store, which sells overstocks from the stores/catalog and First Ascent gear.
The Salvage Store
Prices here are super cheap, but you must really look stuff over and make sure there are no holes and that gadgets/gear work. Some items are actually not defective at all-just returns because a size or color wasn't to a customer's liking. Prices have gone up (not much considering) to $6 for shirts/pants/shorts/dresses, $2 for large gadgets, $1 for small gadgets, $2 gloves/belts/hats/etc., prices on coats vary based on content, lining and trademark (range from $10 for an unline coat or vest up to $50 for a leather or suede coat. Down coats are $25 or $40 depending on weight/style.) Boots and leather shoes are $10 and canvas or sandals are $6. Sunglasses are $6. If you're lucky, you might be able to get a good deal on new beddding, a down comforter or luggage and backpacks. Hours are limted to Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m-1p.m. for the public. (Employees can shop on Thursdays.)**Check things over twice as items are final sale. I suggest wearing leggings, a thin shirt and bringing socks to do a sort of "try on" as there are no fitting rooms-just mirrors. Putting something on and turning around to check for holes or stains is a must in my book.
The outlet store is located in the front portion of the store near the cash registers. Items are closer to what's being offered in catalogs and online at the present time for a discounted price.
There are weekly specials for this portion of the store-primarily the back and right portions of the store. Be sure to check the dry-erase board on the way in for the weekly specials. If you're lucky, you might get a coupon for an extra discount. Most of the items in this portion are overstocks, but there are a few returns. I suggest you try on items and make sure there are no damages or they aren't improperly marked for size or Tall/Petite. There is a wide variety of items for sale from boxer shorts to sunhats to necklaces. There is usually an hourly special offered during the busier times on weekends and you get a sticker verifying the added discount. **They also changed the policy so that unworn and unused items may be returned with a receipt within so many days.
First Acent merchandise is located in the middle back portion of the store and items are 50% off at all times unless otherwise noted.
**If you shop here or at regular Eddie Bauer stores be sure to sign up for a "Friends" card. You earn points toward future purchases and get discounts. I saved 25% off my entire order here yesterday. (Prices at the Salvage Store are final and all sales are final-no added discounts.)
