Gahanna's Creekside development offers a variety of restaurants, shops and events in addition to a scenic setting with paths along the creek.
Boat rentals are $5 for an half hour.
I hadn't been to Gahanna's Creekside until recently. I had seen numerous photos and read about a variety of events that take place there-from the outdoor movies to the popular Blues & Jazz Festival. Creekside is located at 117 Mill St. in Gahanna.
There is plenty of nearby parking in a covered garage area off of Mill Street and a large parking lot down the way. A number of shops are in the plaza and a number of restaurants, coffee and tea shops/bakeries can be found there as well. For those interested in plants and doing the Herbal Trail, The Ohio Herb Education Center is located across from Creekside at 110 Mill St.
Walk down by the creek and paths area and you'll see areas with large stones where people can congregate and relax along the path adjacent to the creek. There is also an area where paddle boats can be rented to take along the creek area. Boat rentals are $5 for a half hour. I think it would be nice to eat at at a restaurant and then walk around the creek path area afterwards to get some exercise and enjoy the natural scenery.
Some events that are planned for the area include "Cinema under the Stars" outdoor movies kicking off June 8 with Peter Pan; Second Saturdays family summer events series with family-friendly activities also kick off June 8; and Concerts at Creekside begin May 31 with Celtic music by Lone Raven. A couple of bands I've seen already and like will also play in the series: Salty Caramels June 7 and The Reaganomics July 19.

*I would suggest you wear a mosquito/insect repellent if you plan to walk on the paths along the creek.
