The first Nordstrom Rack in central Ohio opened last Thursday, Sept. 12. The chain also opened a store in the Cleveland area the same day. It's first store in Ohio opened in Cincinnati a couple of years ago.
The store is located across from Easton Town Center in Easton Market, the same shopping plaza that houses Dick's Sporting Goods, Old Navy and Ulta. It's located next to Kittle's Furniture on the north side of the plaza.
It's well-stocked, organized and clean. However, the prices aren't cheap. Although the merchandise sold at Nordstrom Rack is on average a good bit cheaper than what's sold at the retail store, you'll still spend a little bit of money on clothes and accessories there. The store sells home, ladies, mens, shoes, accessories and some perfume and beauty care items.
For the best deals, I suggest you check out the clearance racks. I often find it's a good idea to buy well-made, basic items at the end-of-season that aren't too trendy during clearance sales and store them to wear in the future.
According to a story I just read in The Columbus Dispatch, Saks Fifth Avenue will be opening one of its Off Fifth outlet stores in the shopping center with Costco and Whole Foods at Easton. I've bought a few things there over the years, but I feel like the prices are still too steep for my budget. However, I'll check it out when it opens.
**TIP: Don't forget that Kroger and Giant Eagle sell Nordstrom gift cards and you can use them at Nordstrom Rack. Kroger often has 4X fuel points and that's the time to buy gift cards; Giant Eagle offers $.20 off gas for each $50 gift card purchase.
