Local competitive eater Mark “the human vacuum” Lyle will gorge himself on Coney dogs Saturday at a Dublin-area Skyline, 7668 Sawmill Road in the Olde Sawmill Square. The gaudy gobbling begins at 11 a.m. Proceeds raised through donations will go to Kids ’n Kamp, says franchisee Scott Redwine. In addition, for every $10 of food sold that day, $1 will go to the charity. It’s the second time this year Redwine has held an eating competition for charity. The first one in March was to celebrate the store’s first anniversary. That event raised $365 for a food pantry on Cleveland Avenue. At the time, Lyle was declared the winner after downing 15 chili-slathered dogs in 30 minutes. The prize: one three-way dog (spaghetti, chili, cheese) a month for a year. In a touching demonstration of generosity, Lyle gave his winnings to a 7-year-old girl, who also was a competitor. On Saturday, Lyle’s going solo.
