The Cleveland Indians identified 40 percent of the Columbusstarting rotation today by optioning pitchers Trevor Bauer and Corey Kluber to the Clippers. Bauer is the top prospect in the organization, according to Baseball America.

The Tribe also optioned left-handed relief pitcher Scott Barnes to Columbus and re-assigned pitcher Giovanni Sota to the minor-league camp.

The Indians acquired Bauer, 22, from the Arizona Diamondbacks as part ofa three-team trade that included the Cincinnati Reds. He was the Diamondacks' minor league pitcher of the year in 2012.

Kluber, 26,was 11-7 with a 3.59 earned run average in 21 starts for the Clippers last season. He started 12 games for Cleveland and was 2-5 with a 5.14 ERA.

Barnes, 25, was moved to the bullpen last season and spent time with both Columbus and Cleveland in that new role. He posted a 4.26 ERA in 16 appearances for the Indians.

The left-handed Soto, 21, started 22 games for double-A Akron last season and was 6-9 with a 3.93 ERA.
