Africentric's Hill to play women's basketball for Cincinnati
Africentric Early College's Marley Hill became the latest central Ohio girls basketball player to make her college choice when she verballed to the University of Cincinnati earlier this week.
A 6-foot-2 post player who helped the Nubians win the Division III state championship this season, Black is considered a four-star recruit by ESPN HoopGurlz.
"She is the seventh player from Africentric since 2007 to sign a Division I scholarship," Africentric coach Will McKinney said. "We are extremely proud of her."
Hill joins Gahanna's Maddison Blackwell (Xavier) and Olentangy Orange's Taylor Agler (Indiana) among the area players who have verballed from the 2013 class.
Several others are likely to announce over the coming months, once players such as Northland's Alexis Peterson, Gahanna's Quiera Lampkins and a group from Reynoldsburg make their decisions.
Hill averaged 10 points and made honorable mention all-district as a sophomore for Pickerington Central before transferring to Africentric last season.
In the Nubians' 70-66 overtime win over Anna in the state championship game March 17, Hill had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Kiyanna Black, a 2012 graduate who had 27 points and 12 rebounds for Africentric in that game, signed with Ohio University last November.
