Dublin Coffman quarterback James Walsh announced Wednesday night on his personal Twitter feed that he will play football for Ohio University.
A member of the 2013 recruiting class, Walsh completed 154 of 261 passes for 1,837 yards with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season as the Shamrocks went 8-3.
Walsh also rushed for 321 yards and seven touchdowns while making special mention all-district and second-team all-OCC-Central Division last fall.
He could be poised for a big senior season, considering the Shamrocks return several key players who saw action as juniors last season. Among those is wide receiver Austen Rankin, who had 20 catches a year ago, and running back Bilal Williamson.
Combine that with the Coffman's propensity for developing quarterbacks, and Walsh would seem to be a star in the making this coming fall.
According to Walsh's page on ScoutingOhio.com, the 6-2, 186-pounder also had offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan and Toledo.
