Gahanna Lincoln High School girls volleyball player Kelly Shannon and boys basketball player Aaron Jackson signed letters of intent Nov. 15 to play in college.
Shannon signed with Clarion University in Clarion, Pa., and Jackson signed with the University of Akron.
Shannon is a senior middle hitter who was first-team all-OCC-Ohio Division and first-team all-district this fall as the Lions were Division I district runners-up.
Jackson is a 6-foot-6 guard who made first-team all-league, third-team all-district and the ThisWeek Super 12 last season. He averaged 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals as the Lions went 16-7 and were district semifinalists.
Gahanna Lincoln High School girls basketball players Zenobia Bess, Maddison Blackwell, Chrishna Butler and Quiera Lampkins and baseball player Alec Tuohy signed letters of intent Nov. 16 to compete in college.
Tuohy signed with Buffalo, Bess with Illinois State, Blackwell with Xavier, Butler with Cleveland State and Lampkins with Ohio University.
Tuohy was the winning pitcher when the Lions beat Dublin Coffman 5-1 in a 2011 Division I district final. Last spring, he went 5-4 with a 2.54 ERA in a team-high 57 2/3 innings.
The girls basketball team won a district championship and finished 18-7 last season. Lampkins averaged 12.8 points and made the ThisWeek Super 12. Butler (8.7 ppg), Blackwell (8.2 ppg) and Bess (6.0 ppg) also were starters.
