Licking Heights High School senior Ronnie Dawson signed a letter of intent Nov. 14 to play baseball at Ohio State.
An outfielder, Dawson was the MSL-Cardinal Division Player of the Year last season after hitting.459 with 24 doubles, five triples and nine home runs.
He is coming off a knee injury suffered during the football preseason. As a junior, Dawson was a second-team all-state pick who played tailback and defensive back for the Hornets.
“As a child, I always dreamed about becoming a Buckeye and wearing the scarlet and gray,” Dawson said in an Ohio State press release. “Now, as a young man, my dream has turned into reality by becoming a part of this baseball program.”
