Northland High School girls basketball player Alexis Peterson signed a letter of intent Nov. 16 to play for Syracuse.

Peterson, a 5-foot-6 senior who has been a starter since her freshman season, helped the Vikings to a 24-2 record and a Division I regional runner-up finish a year ago.

The point guard was the district’s Player of the Year, and she made first-team all-state and was named the ThisWeek Super 12 captain. She averaged 18.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 4.1 steals and has scored 1,092 points for her prep career.
