Olentangy Liberty High School senior Stephanie Ruffing signed a letter of intent Nov. 14 to play volleyball at Wright State University.
This fall, Ruffing was named first-team all-district and all-league, as the Patriots finished 17-5 overall, went 12-2 in the OCC-Central Division to finish second behind Dublin Coffman (14-0) and reached a Division I district final before losing to Pickerington North 25-23, 25-17, 25-20 on Oct. 27.
Girls basketball players Lydia Hyburg and Brooke Zwayer and girls lacrosse player Mallory Quiggle from Olentangy High School signed letters of intent Nov. 16 to play college sports.
Hyburg signed with Wheeling (W.Va.) Jesuit, Zwayer signed with Malone University in Canton and Quiggle signed with Lake Erie College in Painesville.
The girls basketball team won its third consecutive OCC-Cardinal Division championship and was a Division I district runner-up last season. Zwayer averaged 11.3 points and made first-team all-league and third-team all-district, and Hyburg averaged 8.6 points and 4.7 rebounds to make second-team all-league and honorable mention all-district.
Quiggle had 22 goals and nine assists last spring as the girls lacrosse team went 10-4 and was a regional semifinalist.
Olentangy Orange High School senior Taylor Agler has signed a letter of intent to play women’s basketball for Indiana University.
Agler, a 5-foot-9 point guard, averaged 15.6 points, 6.8 assists and 3.5 steals last season. She was the OCC-Capital Division Player of the Year and first-team all-district in Division I as Orange was a district runner-up.
