Warriors' Rickly signs to compete in gymnastics for Buckeyes

Worthington Christian senior Andrew Rickly signed a letter of intent to compete for the Ohio State men's gymnastics team Nov. 19.

Rickly has been training at Hocking Valley Gymnastics Center in Lancaster since first grade under owner and coach Mike Serra and is a six-time Junior Olympic National qualifier.

At the 2012 VISA Championships in June in St. Louis, Rickly tied for third on bars, was seventh on rings and 13th all-around. He also attended training camps at Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska and the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

"I am so grateful to God and to everyone who has helped me reach the collegiate level, and I can't wait to be a Buckeye," Rickly said.

Rickly also has been an academic All-American the last three years at Worthington Christian, which, like every other school in central Ohio, doesn't have a boys gymnastics program.
