Big news from Broadway in Columbus
Two big announcements from Broadway in Columbus!
The first is that ultra-mega-massive-gigantic smash hit musical The Book of Mormon (you know, the little matter of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, that one) will hit Columbus during the series' 2013-2014 season. No further details yet, but of course there is a ticket offer. Folks who subscribe for 2012-2013 will assure themselves tickets for tBoM.
The upcoming season includes Beauty and the Beast, White Christmas, Million Dollar Quartet, American Idiot and War Horse. No slouches, those. Go here for details.
Which leads us to the next big news, which is that, while War Horse is here in April 2013, the Columbus Museum of Art will host "Strings Attached," a rare exhjibit of Czech puppets. Since puppeting is a significant part of the staging of War Horse, this is a pretty cool pairing.
And finally, in a somewhat less-gignificant note The Beat discovered regarding a special add-on show for the upcoming season (not part of the subscription package), is that among the latest slate of new actors joining the national tour of Wicked is Kim Zimmer, late of television's Guiding Light. She joins the tour as Madame Morrible later this month, which means it's at least likely she'll still be with the tour when it plays Columbus in June 2013.
