Horse-related trade show is April 10-13

The Equine Affaire starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday at the Ohio Expo Center. It's the largest horse-related trade show in the country, but even if you aren't a horse owner, there is plenty to see and do.

The Fantasia is the Equine Affaire's signature musical celebration of the horse and takes place at 7:30pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the coliseum. This not-to-be-missed equine musical revue will feature professional equestrian acts from throughout the country performing to a wide variety of musical styles. (Separate ticket required)

Equine Affaire's popular Versatile Horse & Rider Competition also takes place through the weekend and is fun to watch. Qualifying rounds begin at 9:30 on Thursday morning in Cooper Arena, and the finals will be at 4:30 on Friday afternoon in the Taft Coliseum. In this fast-paced, crowd-pleasing event, 30 horse and rider teams will race through a challenging obstacle course while being judged on their horsemanship. Teams will compete for $5,500 in cash and other prizes and the title of 2014 Versatile Horse & Rider Champion.

General admission toEquine Affaire includes all clinics, seminars, demonstrations, and the Versatile Horse & Rider Competition. Tickets cost $15/day for adults (11 and over) or $50/four-day ticket. Children 7-10 are $8/day and children 6 and under are admitted free. A separate ticket is required for the Fantasia. Tickets are available at the gate; cash only.
