Friends, as I walk the aisles of the grocery stores I am noticing something happening. The size of packaging is shrinking. It does not matter if it comes if a jar, box, bag or bottle they are getting smaller. For example Kroger had their store brand peanut butter on sale last week 10 for $10.00. Now in the past the jar was a standard 18 oz. jar. Now it is repackaged in a 12 ounce jar. Skippy peanut butter went from the 18 oz. jar to a 15 - 16.3 ounce jar. This trend seems to be happening across the board on many items. Instead of raising the prices on their products manufacturers have opted for giving you less. I think this trend is going to continue. Keep a calculator handy to check the unit pricing when deciding what brand to buy. You may be better off purchasing a different brand with more in it. Don't be fooled by the marketing ploy . Just because the item is being sold at the same price it was before the size change doesn't necessarily mean it is a good deal. This would be a good time to check into the prices at the wholesale clubs such as Sam's Club and Costco. The unit prices there on items that you use regularly may be much lower. For now happy shopping!
