    Veterans Day observed with gratitude, praise

    Veterans were honored by local students last week during Veterans Day observances hosted by Pataskala's school districts.
    Pataskala utilities department employees Nathan Coey and Mitch Rader on Thursday, Nov. 5, use heavy equipment to spread 120 tons of biosolid fertilizer created using wet sludge from the sewer-treatment process on 300 acres at Terry Sutherland's Pataskala farm.

    Waste not wanting with fertilizer plan

    Though Pataskala's new "sludge pad" is not completed, the city already is saving money by storing wet sludge from the sewage-treatment process and giving it to a local farmer as biosolid fertilizer, according to Nathan Coey, the city's utilities director.
