Jesse Barns rushed for 187 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries Friday as the visiting Grove City Christian football team defeated Corning Miller 39-0.

Barns opened the scoring with a 1-yard run with 6 minutes, 40 seconds left in the first quarter.

With 10 minutes left in the half, Barns went 75 yards for a score. Cody Lucas added a 17 yard run with 3:19 remaining for a 19-0 halftime lead.

Barns closed his evening by scoring on a 20-yard run in the third quarter and a 4-yard run in the fourth.

Zach Vance scored the Eagles' final touchdown on a 55-yard run.

Grove City Christian, which improved to 5-0, finished the game with 350 yards rushing on 37 attempts.

Christopher Bowman was 10 of 18 passing for 130 yards and two interceptions. Brice Bowman caught four passes for 43 yards.

The Eagles allowed 146 yards of offense, including 124 yards rushing on 39 attempts.

Grove City Christian will travel to Troy Christian on Friday.
