The one player opposing coaches planned for most was Nix.
The 5-foot-11, 240-pound Nix was the dominant force on a team that was one of only four Region 3 teams not to allow 30 or more points in a game. His instincts on the line were such that opposing coaches had a hard time believing he wasn't a senior.
"Everybody told me afterward, 'We're sure glad we don't have to deal with him anymore,'" coach Steve Evans said. "I just told them he's only a junior. He's going to be a big part of the defense next year."
Nix lived in the opponent's backfield, recording 34 tackles for loss and 85 tackles overall. He was first-team all-OCC-Cardinal and first-team all-district in Division I. "Rosy is a one-man wrecking crew," teammate Nick Chittenden said.
