The Marion-Franklin High School wrestling team advanced three wrestlers to the Division I state tournament, which is Thursday-Saturday at Ohio State.

Paul Caldwell (heavyweight) won a district championship last Saturday at Hilliard Darby, Quinton Ryman (152) was third and Filandus Boyd (112) took fourth.

The Red Devils finished 11th (58.5) of 41 teams which scored at district behind champion Hilliard Davidson (119.5).

The other City teams to score in Division I were Brookhaven (tied for 35th, 4), Walnut Ridge (tied for 35th, 4) and Columbus West (tied for 37th, 3).

The Bearcats' Louis Ford (2-2) and West's Derrick Neimeister (152) and Jason Russell (171) each went 1-2. Walnut Ridge's Lamar Ross (189) was 2-2 and Cameron Trudell (215) was 0-2. Also competing for Marion-Franklin was Josh Bidlack (171), who went 0-2.
