The Dublin Coffman High School gymnastics team captured the district championship Saturday at Worthington Kilbourne, ending DeSales' five-year run.

The Dublin Coffman High School gymnastics team captured the district championship Saturday at Worthington Kilbourne, ending DeSales' five-year run.

The Shamrocks scored 139.175 points to hold off Hilliard Davidson (138.225) for the title. DeSales (138.1) also advanced to the state meet March 6-7 at Hilliard Darby.
Grove City was fourth (136.825) in a field of 21, followed in the top 10 by Kilbourne (134.6), Thomas Worthington (133.35), Darby (130.625), Olentangy Liberty (128.225), Big Walnut (128.15) and Dublin Jerome (127.975).

The top three teams and top eight individuals in each event, including the all-around, advanced to state.

Champions were Coffman's Hailey Fairchild on bars (9.525), vault (9.225) and the all-around (36.825), Grove City's Brittany Maynard on floor (9.325) and Liberty's Amanda Osswald on beam (9.175).
