The Hartley High School boys and girls swimming and diving teams competed at the Division II state meet, which concluded Saturday at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.

The Hartley High School boys and girls swimming and diving teams competed at the Division II state meet, which concluded Saturday at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.

The girls were 12th with 55 points as Gates Mills Hawken (334) won the title. The boys tied for 53rd (2) behind champion Hunting Valley University (288).

Jessica Carpenter was eighth (59.89) in the 100 butterfly and ninth (1:00.78) in the 100 backstroke. In preliminaries, Tiffany Aeling was 16th (5:23.66) in the 500 freestyle and 22nd (2:01.68) in the 200 free and Taylor Shotwell was 15th (1:02.01) in the 100 backstroke and 23rd (2:22.70) in the 200 IM.

The 200 free relay was 15th (1:44.75), the 400 free relay was 15th (3:49.44) and the 200 medley relay was eighth (1:55.01).

Patrick Kelly was 16th (4:53.34) in the 500 freestyle and was disqualified in the consolation final of the 200 IM. Michael Arnold was 16th (295.45) in diving.
