Licking Heights High School senior wrestler Chandler Jones earned a fourth trip to the state tournament by winning the district title at 119 pounds during the Division II meet Saturday at Heath.

Jones, who placed twice in Division III before failing to reach the podium a year ago in Division II, improved to 41-9 and is one of two Licking County district champions. Johnstown's Chris Block won the title at 140 during the Division III meet in Steubenville.

Overall, 11 area wrestlers qualified for the state tournament, which will be held Thursday-Saturday at Ohio State.

Six of the state berths came in Division III. Joining Block at state will be teammate Keith Tanner (second, 135), Heath's Dom Barlow (second, 119) and Mason Robinson (third, 135) and Newark Catholic's Aaron Shook (second, 189) and Casey Cunningham (fourth, 285). Utica's Dylan Wheeler (fourth, 125) and Lakewood's Alex Strayer (second, 135) also advanced in Division II.

In Division I, Watkins Memorial pinned down a pair of state berths at Hilliard Darby. Advancing were Andrew Boehm (second, 112) and Jay Kunzi (second, 119).
