Westerville North High School standout wrestler Josh Demas is hoping the third time is a charm.

Demas will again represent the Warriors at the Division I state tournament Thursday-Saturday at Ohio State. The junior, who placed third in the state last season at 145 pounds, earned a third shot at a state championship after winning the district title at 152 on Saturday at Hilliard Darby.

Demas (42-1) capped his title run with a pin of Upper Arlington's Kyle Frost (5:03) in the final.

North placed 18th with 46.5 points, finishing behind first-place Hilliard Davidson (119.5).

The Warriors' Brandon Burkett was looking for a second state tournament berth but had to settle for sixth at 135. The senior, who wrestled with a rib injury, reached the semifinals but was later forced to forfeit his fifth-place match because of the injury.

The top four advanced to state.

North's other district qualifiers were Joe Herrera at 103 (1-2), Jacob Smith at 140 (1-2) and Simon Wallace at 215 (1-2).

•Stephen Alger (119) and Pat McNabb (heavyweight) represented Westerville Central at the district tournament. Alger went 0-2, and McNabb finished 1-2, with his lone win coming against Worthington Kilbourne's Brett Schaffer 10-3 in a consolation match.

•Westerville South's R.J. Stevenson was 1-2 at 119. He edged Dublin Jerome's Casey Nicholson 6-5 in a consolation match.
Central and South each scored point.
