In the game in which she scored the 1,000th point of her career, Dennis had a program-record 41 points and added 15 rebounds as the Lions beat Whitehall 56-47 on Jan. 6. Dennis, a Stetson-signee, averaged 22.4 points and 10.4 rebounds and was the MSL-Ohio Division Player of the Year in addition to being first-team all-district and first-team all-state in Division II.

"What can you say about Ashley Dennis? She is one of the best players to come through central Ohio," coach Rick Ferkel said. "She's going to have a great career in the future. You can't replace someone like that."

"She was basically our offense," teammate Becca Carroll said. "She is at a different level of experience than most of us with all the AAU basketball she has played. She really pushes us to play beyond where we normally play at."
