During one stretch in early February, there might not have been a more dominant scoring threat in central Ohio than the 6-4 Gouch.

Gouch, who increased his overall scoring average from 13.4 last year to 19.3 as the Cougars went 17-5, had three games of more than 30 points, including 42 in a 95-78 win Feb. 3 over Linden-McKinley. He averaged 29 points over six games from Jan. 30 through Feb. 13.

Gouch was first-team all-district and first-team all-City-North as Beechcroft was seeded sixth to the district tournament and finished second in the City-North.

"He's been really tremendous," coach Scott Davis said. "He's a heck of a leader and he's a really, really complete player on both sides on the floor. He can handle the ball, he can slash and he can score it inside."
