2 incumbents ousted on school board

Reynoldsburg voters indicated Tuesday they want change on the city school board.

Of the three incumbents seeking re-election, only one, Andrew Swope, was returned to office. The top vote-getter in the race, according to final unofficial counts from the Franklin County Board of Elections, was Elaine

Tornero, who said in her campaign she did not support the school district's 9.9-mill levy on the Nov. 3 ballot and did not plan to vote for it.

The third seat will be filled by newcomer Kristen Bryant. Incumbents Cheryl Max and James A. Slonaker Jr. were not re-elected.

According to final unofficial figures from the Franklin County Board of Elections, Tornero received 2,977 votes (16.84 percent); Swope received 2,474 votes, (14 percent); and Bryant received 2,397 votes (13.56 percent).

Among the other candidates, Ryan Brzezinski received 2,283 votes (12.92 percent); Max received 2,150 votes (12.16 percent); Slonaker received 1,854 votes (10.49 percent); Daniel W. Hedrick received 1,777 votes (18.05 percent); and G. Daryl Albrecht received 1,762 votes (9.97 percent).

In Licking County, Tornero received 742 votes (12.35 percent); Bryant had 737 votes (12.26 percent) and Swope had 975 votes (16.23 percent).

Albrecht had 817 votes (13.60 percent); Brzezinski received 927 votes (15.43 percent), Hedrick had 573 votes (9.54 percent) and Max had 685 votes (11.40 percent)
