The Ready High School football team will attempt to win its second in a row when it travels to play Friday at Sidney Lehman Catholic in a non-league game.

The last time the teams met was 2004, with the Silver Knights winning 18-6 on the way to finishing 7-3.

The Cavaliers finished 1-9 that season, but are coming off a 69-12 victory over Troy Christian last Friday for their fourth consecutive win.

During a 46-41 win over Covington (Ky.) Holy Cross last Saturday, Ready's Demetrius Clark ran for 132 yards and one touchdown, caught four passes for 99 yards and two scores and added a 53-yard touchdown on a fumble recovery. Quarterback Bo Hardy completed 11 of 13 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns as Ready increased its season scoring average to 31.4.

Lehman Catholic is led by quarterback Jonathan Slagle, who has passed for 587 yards and eight touchdowns, and running back Kaleb Goins, who has 629 yards rushing and has scored nine touchdowns.

The Cavaliers average 34.4 points and give up an average of 13.4. Their only loss came Aug. 27 to Anna (29-7), which beat the Silver Knights 20-17 in a Division V, Region 20 quarterfinal last year.

Lehman Catholic has made four consecutive Division VI playoff appearances and Ready has advanced to the Division V postseason each of the last three seasons.
