That's what the Westerville Central High School football team felt last Friday with its 33-7 win over Westerville North.
The Warhawks entered that game losers of four consecutive games and seven of their last nine. Like Central, Marysville earned their first OCC-Cardinal Division win last Friday, beating Olentangy 21-7.
Marysville has won the last three meetings against Central, including last year's 27-17 victory. Central's last win over Marysville came in 2006 when the Warhawks won the final game of the season 14-7.
Central's offense amassed 309 yards to North's 166 last Friday, led by Miles Fisher's 94 yards rushing and a touchdown on nine carries. Fisher will see a stout Marysville defense that intercepted Olentangy twice and forced one fumble. Twice in the last three weeks, the Monarchs have allowed seven or fewer points in a game.
Central's defense, which has allowed an average of 25.8 points in its four losses, will need to contain Marysville's triple-option offense led by Chris Bailey, who has 587 yards rushing and seven touchdowns on 89 attempts.
