Another week, another set of injuries for the Worthington Kilbourne High School football team.
In a 21-18 loss to Upper Arlington last Friday, the Wolves played the second half without starting quarterback Brandon Randolph. Randolph sustained a high ankle sprain and his status for Friday's game against Westland was unknown. It was the latest in a long list of injuries the Wolves have experienced.
Despite the problems and four consecutive losses, Kilbourne coach Vince Trombetti said his team played its best game of the season against UA. Westland must contain the Wolves' triple-option offense that has 1,244 yards and 11 touchdowns on 218 carries, led by Sheldon Tillman's 674 yards and five touchdowns on 84 carries.
The OCC-Central Division teams last met in 2008, Kilbourne won 45-17.
Westland's only victory came over Toledo Scott 28-0 on Sept. 10, but the Cougars have lost their last two games to Hilliard Davidson and Dublin Coffman by a combined 112-12.
