William Houston made sure the Dublin Scioto High School football team closed the season on a winning note Friday as he rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-14 victory over visiting Marysville.

William Houston made sure the Dublin Scioto High School football team closed the season on a winning note Friday as he rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-14 victory over visiting Marysville.

Houston scored on runs of 2, 2 and 3 yards as the Irish posted their first winning record since 2007 by finishing 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the OCC-Cardinal Division. Scioto was 5-5 the last two seasons.

The Monarchs finished 5-5 and 3-4.

Houston's last score gave the Irish a 28-7 lead after three quarters. Evan DeMars threw an 11-yard pass to Trey Moore for the other Scioto touchdown.

Jerry Miles also rushed for 122 yards as the Irish finished with 249 yards on 47 rushing attempts.

Marysville rushed for 111 yards on 28 attempts. Craig Runyan caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Connor Devine in the second quarter and Hayes Crispin scored from 2 yards to cap the scoring.
