When we opened in August 2009, we served 25 families. Now, more than 250 families received much-needed assistance in January 2011. It is your generous financial donations, food drives and volunteer support that make this possible. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, who have logged more than 2,600 hours in the last six months, our clients are greeted with dignity and a caring heart.

Grateful is just one word to describe our experience at the 2010 summer Saturday farmers markets. Cash donations totaled more than $4,500 and we were humbled and impressed by our youngest community members as they placed their gifts in the pantry collection box and expressed their wish to help others.

Our end-of-the-year appeal letter generated more than $30,000. With all these donations, Pantry staff and volunteers distributed nearly 51,000 pounds of food from July through December 2010.

Your willingness to help coupled with concern for your neighbors are some of the characteristics of the fabric that makes our Worthington community so special.
