I am raising and training Hollen, my third puppy for Canine Companions for Independence, who hopefully will go on to advanced training and then be provided without charge to a person with a disability. We regularly visit The Courtyard nursing home, where the 36 residents love Hollen. I also call bingo numbers and deliver holiday treats to the residents at The Courtyard.
I have been an altar server at Sunday Teen Life Mass since February 2006 at St. Brendan Church, where I also worked the fish fries and ran games at the summer festival and breakfast with Santa. Last December, my family and I made 600 Christmas cards with Hershey's Kisses for the Meals on Wheels recipients.
