Doug and Debbie Turpening of Pickerington announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn of Canal Winchester, to Nolen W. Gossett IV of Lancaster, son of Lisa and Brad Rase of Stoutsville and Nolen W. Gossett III of Little Rock, Ark.
The bride-to-be received an associate degree in deaf studies and interpreting, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in communication from Ohio University. She is continuing her education in nursing at Ohio University. She is employed as an adjunct instructor for Ohio University and an American Sign Language interpreter for the Columbus State Community College and Deaf Services Center.
Her fiance is a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division Infantry and is certified as a firefighter and EMT by Hocking College. He is employed as a firefighter with the Boeing and Hocking Township Fire Department. He also is the co-owner of S&G Swine Ltd.
The wedding will take place in May at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church.
