Residents asked for input on superintendent search

Monday February 4, 2013 11:40 AM

The Columbus City Schools Board of Education is inviting district students, parents, staff, and community members to participate in any one of five regional focus groups to identify the qualities and skills expected from the next district superintendent.  The focus groups will be run by representatives from Hazard Young Attea & Associates, the executive search firm hired by the Board of Education to conduct the search.

The meetings are taking place as follows:

7 p.m. Feb. 4, Binns Elementary School, 1080 Binns Blvd.
7 p.m. Feb. 5, Ohio Avenue Elementary School, 505 S. Ohio Ave.
7 p.m. Feb. 6, East Columbus Elementary School, 3100 E. 7th Ave.
7 p.m.  Feb. 11, Colerain Elementary School, 499 E. Weisheimer Road
•7 p.m.  Feb. 12, Oakland Park Elementary School, 3392 Atwood Terrace

The feedback gathered from the focus groups as well as an online survey will assist the search firm to target specific individuals to recruit, as well as to assist in communicating the community’s desires and expectations to prospective superintendent candidates seeking information on their own.

More information regarding the superintendent search process, as well as a link to an online survey can be found on the Columbus City Schools website, located at www.columbus.k12.oh.us, as well as through the District’s E-Newsletter, Facebook and Twitter.
