Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park

* Birding at its Best, 8 a.m. Saturday at the Indian Ridge bulletin board. Enjoy a morning chorus of warblers, finches, orioles and other birds.

* Central Ohio Folk Music Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free concerts all day and children's activities starting at 1 p.m. Workshops on a variety of folk instruments for a fee. * Morning Coffee and Wildlife Watch, 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. View wildlife through the windows and enjoy a cup of coffee.

* Metro Five-0: Nature by Tram, 3 p.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. Take a four-mile tram ride and view the beauty of spring in the park. For ages 50 and older.

* Tram Tour, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Nature Center. Take a tram ride through the park.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 state Route 161 E., Westerville

* Metro Five-0: Ravine Ramble, 1 p.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. Take a wild, wet and muddy one-mile hike down a ravine. Return via an easier route. For ages 50 and older.

* Wild and Wet, 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cherry Ridge Program Area. Explore the woods and creek in the Natural Play Area.

* Homeschoolers: Ravine Ramble, 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nature Center. Take a two-mile hike down a wild and muddy ravine.

Chestnut Ridge Metro Park

8445 Winchester Road, N.W., Carroll

* Wildflower Walk, 10 a.m. Saturday at the Springhouse Program Area. Take a 1.4-mile walk around the ridge to explore blooming flora.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. 23 N., Lewis Center

* Pond Critters, 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Dragonfly Day Camp. Discover the world of amphibians and meet live critters from the pond and vernal pool.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 Hempstead Road, Westerville

* Spring Plant Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A broad selection of perennials and herbs will be for sale.

Pickerington Ponds Metro Park

7680 Wright Road, Canal Winchester

* Welcome Back, Ospreys, 2 p.m. Saturday at the Glacier Knoll Picnic Area. Observe the ospreys on and around their nest and learn how they survive here and during their 2,500-mile migration.

* Metro Five-0: Spring Day Bike Ride, 2 p.m. Saturday at the Glacier Knoll Picnic Area. Take a flat and leisurely 12-mile ride with stops along the way to learn about the park. For ages 50 and older.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

* Wildflower Wander, 2 p.m. Sunday at Spring Hollow Lodge, 1069 W. Main St., Westerville. Take a one-mile on- and off-trail hike for wildflowers and edibles and learn about their historical uses.

Slate Run Metro Park

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

* Natural Play Area Adventure: Birds & Nests, 2 p.m. Sunday at the Shady Grove Program Area. Look and listen for birds, then use natural materials to make what you think would be a great bird nest.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

* Heirloom Gardening Primer, 1 p.m. Saturday. Learn how staff research, plan and care for the farm's heirloom garden and how you can use some of the same plants and methods at home.

* Eggs, Feathers and Fowl, 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. See how chickens were butchered and how eggs were preserved without refrigeration on an 1880s farm.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

* Fishing at Palm Pond, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Heritage Nature Center, 551 Wirt Road. Cast a line and see what you can catch. Limited poles and bait available For ages 15 and younger.
