* Homeschoolers: Creeking, 10 a.m. Monday at the Nature Center. Wade in the creek and discover what creatures live there.

* Preschoolers: Those First Falls, 9:30 or 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ranger Station. Take a romp in the leaves and learn about the importance of trees.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

* Morning Coffee and Wildlife Watch, 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. View wildlife through the windows and enjoy a cup of coffee.

* Tram Tour, 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ash Grove Picnic Area. Take a leisurely ride through the park.

* Preschoolers: Nutty Adventures, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Beech Maple Lodge. Find out what squirrels and chipmunks are up to at this time of year through stories and activities.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

* Photo Prowl, 9 a.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. Learn photo techniques as you walk the trails.

* Music Round the Campfire, 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cherry Ridge Program Area. Bring a musical instrument or build one from provided materials. Perform with other musicians around the fire.

* Audubon Bird Hike, 8 a.m. Sunday at the Nature Center. Search the woods and fields for resident birds.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

* Night Bike Ride, 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the bulletin board at the main entrance picnic area. Take an 8.5-mile ride through fields and forest.

* Walk and Woof, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the bulletin board at the main entrance picnic area. Take a 2.5-mile hike with your dog through fields and forest.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. 23 N., Lewis Center

* Step Back in Time, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays throughout October at the Nature Center. This series celebrating the park's 40th birthday will cover different topics each week, including edible plants, pioneer toys and historic artifacts. There also will be crafts and games.

* The Old Red Barn, 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Nature Center. Take a lantern-lit two-mile hike to the large barn and farm pond.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 Hempstead Road, Westerville

* Sunny Sundays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Herb Garden. Members of the Herb Society of America Central Ohio Unit will be available to answer visitors' questions.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

* Commit To Be Fit Healthy Hike, 1 p.m. Sunday at the Apple Ridge Picnic Shelter. Take a two-mile hike with park rangers.

Slate Run Metro Park

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

* Crafternoon, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Buzzard's Roost Picnic Area. Make nature crafts such as ladybugs or cattail hats.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

* Fall Harvest, 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Help with seasonal harvest activities as the farm prepares for winter.
