Shale Hollow opens to the public

Tuesday December 10, 2013 10:05 AM

Shale Hollow Preserve officially opened to the public Dec. 8. Visitors can view the 40-foot-tall shale cliffs towering over a stream that leads to the Olentangy River, old growth forest and wildlife. The park is on Artesian Run just west of Route 23 at Olentangy Crossing.

It is 188 acres and features a lodge, a 1.1-mile marked trail, a unimproved cliff trail and a natural exploration area where visitors can get close to Big Run, a tributary that runs through the park.
