Upper Arlington

Drivers asked to be cautious

To the editor:

The safety of our children and all the residents of this great community is one of the most important priorities for the Upper Arlington City School District.

Over the years, both the city and schools have partnered on projects to help increase safety measures around our schools.

While sidewalk improvements, enlarged crosswalks and increased signage have been welcome additions to help make the areas safe, we still need assistance from our parents and the general public who drive through these areas daily. It is vital that all drivers in and around schools adhere to all speed limits, crossing signs, parking signs, traffic laws and, perhaps most important, exercise patience, consideration and common sense.

Our school safety committees and principals have established guidelines to help facilitate a safe stop-drop-and-go and we urge you to adhere to those guidelines to help ensure the safety of our schoolchildren.
