To the Editor:

As a resident of the city of Dublin, a professional in the community, a homeowner and the mother of three children in the Dublin City School District, I strongly encourage a YES vote for Issue 48.

Each day I witness the importance of a strong school district in my life.

It is there as I watch my second-grader eagerly prepare to be Scientist for the Day at Scottish Corners Elementary School, when my third-grader realizes it really can be fun to read and as my fifth-grader gloats that his homework for his accelerated sixth-grade math class is already a little beyond my abilities.

And outside of the classroom, the strength of our school district is essential to our financial security as a family, because we know that our home's value will not be devastated because of an economic downturn.

The importance of a strong district goes well beyond the four walls of our beloved home and reaches out to every corner of our community -- by helping to attract quality businesses, grooming leaders of tomorrow and being a collaborative partner in addressing some of our community's most vital needs.

For all of our sakes, please vote YES on Issue 48.
