To the editor:

On behalf of the board of directors and the thousands of men, women, children, and seniors served each year by Concord Counseling Services, I would like to thank all those who attended our recent "Sip of Concord" and helped us raise more than $9,000 to provide these important services to our community.

I would especially like to thank OhioHealth whose sponsorship shows how much they care about the mental health of our community as well as the physical health of the people who live here.

At some time in their lives, one in four of the people we know and care about will struggle with challenges such as relationship problems, family issues, or grief at the loss of a loved one or possibly a job, and will need help to overcome them. Some of us will have to deal with a aging parents, a child who is depressed, or a family member who is addicted to drugs or alcohol.

The support of Benchmark Insurance, Alliance Data and Human Resources Services will help our friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family members get the help they need when they need it, right here in our community. Our tasting tables were sponsored by Brower Insurance, Kemba Financial Credit Union, and Mid Ohio Strategic Technologies.

Thank you to Meza Wine Shop, Chocolaterie Stam, Little Turtle Golf Club, and Lia Sophia representative Becky Jahn for helping make this evening so special. We look forward to next fall's third Sip of Concord.
