Special people helped with successful event
To the Editor:
The Upper Arlington Special Olympics organization hosted the annual Area 6 Special Olympics Ohio swim meet held at Upper Arlington High School on Saturday, Nov. 10.
A total of 260 Special Olympics swimmers from central Ohio competed in the meet. Most of them competed in two events. They and their families had fun, experienced success and now qualify for the state meet in December at Ohio State University.
This would not be possible without the 100-plus volunteers who generously donated their time and energy to the many tasks of the meet such as timing, recording, bullpen, awards, lifeguarding and concessions, among others.
On behalf of the Upper Arlington Special Olympics athletes and families, thank you to the following organizations, teams and clubs for supporting our efforts to host a successful swim meet: Upper Arlington Rotary members; Upper Arlington High School water polo and swim team coaches, parents and swimmers; Upper Arlington Special Olympics team volunteers; Upper Arlington High School students and staff; Ohio State University men's lacrosse team coaches and players; Ohio State University Special Olympics Club members; Upper Arlington Special Olympics Organization.
