Upper Arlington

Thanks for help to deployed Marines

To the Editor:

I want to thank the special people in Upper Arlington that helped me conduct a food/item drive for the Marine Corps Family Support Community as part of my senior capstone project.

This group sends care packages to deployed Marines and does some work with the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

If you know a Marine that is deployed overseas and would like to receive care packages, please contact Rogerbock@mcfscoh.org. It does not cost the family anything because of the generous donations the group receives.

It is a wonderful group that I have volunteered for since 2009.

I would like to acknowledge Principal Scarpitti and Windermere Elementary School; Mr. Diehl's fifth-grade class at Greensview Elementary School; Stacey Royer and friends, Arien Lawless, Sarah Gemperline, Susan Pohl Crespo and Brownie Troop 628 for their willingness and enthusiasm to conduct these drives for the Marines.

I appreciate it and I know the Marines do, too.

Two years ago, I sent 90 care packages to Marines deployed overseas for my Eagle Scout project and received many letters of appreciation from the Marines.
