State calls shots, we pay the bill
To the Editor:
I voted against rebuilding the Whitehall City Schools, but it passed and they tore down the schools and rebuilt. The high school is still not finished.
The state of Ohio said we did not need as many classrooms as we had, so the schools now have fewer rooms. The superintendent of Whitehall City Schools told the state all along that we needed more rooms than the state wanted to erect.
Well, we do need more room and Whitehall citizens are expected to pay the bill.
Besides the money, the inconvenience to parents, teachers and students for this fiasco is inexcusable.
I don't believe many people realized the state made the decisions for our city.
