To the Editor:
The Olentangy Local School District lost a valuable asset recently when treasurer Becky Jenkins left to work with the New Albany-Plain Local School District.
Ohio's means of school funding is the most convoluted and nonsensical system ever created, and that reality and the uniqueness of Olentangy's massive and rapid growth create complexities with revenues, expenses and bonding that require a treasurer who is both sharp-minded and capable.
Jenkins is one such person.
I would hope that our board of education negotiated and tried to keep her in the district, though the outcome suggests they did not try hard enough.
