To the Editor:

I am a proud member of Team Bexley. We are a group of passionate people who have come together as part of Pelotonia and its one goal of finding a cure for cancer.

I want to thank the Bexley community for supporting and embracing our efforts.

Each year since its inception, Team Bexley has been among the top 10 pelotons (fund-raising groups) for Pelotonia, the annual bike tour, now in its fifth year.

This is a big deal. Last year, Team Bexley raised more than $225,000. Last year, Pelotonia brought in more than $16 million for the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. These funds are making a significant impact.

To encourage new Pelotonia participants, rally current riders and raise funds, Team Bexley is hosting an event April 7 at the Drexel. We will show the 1982 film E.T.-The Extra-Terrestrial (rated PG).

We are prepared to fill the Drexel and we encourage our friends and neighbors to join us for a fun afternoon with a nostalgic movie. In addition, we will share a little information about Team Bexley. We are looking for riders, virtual riders (team members who raise funds) and volunteers.

Team Bexley is hoping to field its biggest team yet. Plans this year include a city-wide garage sale, participation in the Bexley Fourth of July parade, a swim party, a car wash and a fund-raising dinner at Giuseppe's. Team Bexley, roll: and Urban Moves will host monthly training rides and other fitness events throughout the summer to help riders prepare.

Tickets for E.T. may be purchased at the Drexel Theatre box office, by phone 614-231-1050 or online at http://www.drexel.net/ (special events). Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door; advance reservations are appreciated.

For information, visit www.teambexley.org or write to skondracke@teambexley.org. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.; the program begins at 4 p.m.
